Preview: Red Raiders Look to Halt Big 12 Skid

Texas Tech faces not the easiest team in No. 22/24 Kansas State tonight inside the United Spirit Arena, here is a look at that matchup.

* Texas Tech faces No. 22/24 Kansas State tonight in the United Spirit Arena with first tip coming at 8 p.m.

 

* The Red Raiders enter the game on a six-game losing streak, falling in all their conference games so far putting them at an overall record of 7-11, 0-6 in Big 12 Play

 

* The 76-52 loss to Iowa State marked the fifth loss in conference play that has come by double-digits

 

* Texas Tech was unable to stop the hot three-point shooting of Iowa State , which finished the game 8-for-25 from three-point range

 

 

* The Wildcats on the other hand enter the game coming off two straight wins against Texas and Oklahoma State to bring their record to 14-4, 3-3

 

* The win in Oklahoma State marked the first win in Stillwater for the Wildcats since January 9, 1993 – marking the longest losing streak at a Big 12 venue

 

 

* Kansas State and Texas Tech are meeting for the 27th time tonight and the Wildcats own the all-time series 16-10, but the Red Raiders lead the Lubbock side of the series 7-4

 

* The Wildcats have won four of the five past meetings, and the last time Tech beat the Wildcats was when Michael Beasley was playing for Kansas State in 2008.

 

* Jacob Pullen is off to the NBA,  but they now have Rodney McGruder leading the team averaging 15.6 points per game and 5.6 boards per game as well

 

* Behind McGruder is Jamar Samuels averaging 11.2 points per game and Will Spradling averaging 10.9 points per game

 

* Texas Tech has only one player averaging double-digits in scoring  in freshman Jordan Tolbert with 12.5 points per game, but in the last five games he has been held to under 10 and has scored five or fewer points in four of the five games

 

* Robert Lewandowski scored 20 points in the loss to Iowa State, which tied a career-high and was his first double-digit performance since the win against CSU-Bakersfield on December 27

 

* The Red Raiders and Wildcats clash can be seen on ESPNU or ESPN3.com tonight if you cannot make it out to the United Spirit Arena
