It was just more than a month ago that Jim Turner was
introduced as the new Offensive Line Coach for the Red Raiders.
But Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville in a news
conference on Wednesday announced that Turner will now
take that talent to South Beach and take over as the Offensive Line Coach of
the Miami Dolphins, effective immediately.
Following the firing on Mike Sherman at Texas A&M,
Turner left the Aggies and made the move to Texas Tech to take over a dismal
offensive line.
At Texas A&M, Turner put together the fourth-best O-Line
in the country as his line allowed just nine sacks all season long averaging
just .69 sacks allowed per game.
This move to Miami comes at no surprise as on Friday,
Sherman was hired to be the new offensive coordinator for the Dolphins under
new head coach Joe Philbin.
With his hire, Turner followed suit and joined his former
boss at Miami to try and make its offensive line as dynamic as the one he
created in College Station.
Tuberville also hinted at that he has Turner’s replacement
in place and the new offensive line coach for the Red Raiders will be announced
on Thursday.
