* Texas Tech takes on Oklahoma tonight inside the United
Spirit Arena with first tip coming at 7 p.m.
* This marks the 50th meeting between Oklahoma
and Texas Tech, the Sooners lead the all-time series 31-18, but Tech leads the
series in Lubbock 12-9
* Both Billy Gillispie (Texas Tech Head Coach) and Lon Kruger (Oklahoma Head Coach) are both in their first season at their respective
programs
* The first time these two teams met this season was back on
January 17 in Norman, Oklahoma and it was a game that the Red Raiders had a
chance to win, but came up short falling 64-55
* The Sooners enter the game with a 13-10 overall record and
just a 3-8 mark in Big 12 Conference play
* Oklahoma is coming into the game having lost five of their
last six games since beating Tech in Norman, and have also posted just a 1-4
record on the road
* The Red Raiders on the other hand enter with a 7-16
overall record and 0-11 in Big 12 play marking the worst start in conference play since the 1996 season, and longest losing streak for
the Red Raiders since the 1989-1990 season
* Tech is coming off a 65-46 loss to Kansas State on
Tuesday, marking the 9th game in conference play where the Red
Raiders have lost by double-digits
* Kevin Wagner, who was averaging just 2.5 points per game
and 0.8 rebounds per game is done for the season after
suffering a knee injury in the Texas game on February 4 in Austin
* Luke Adams led the way for the Red Raiders in their last
game with 15 points, and Jordan Tolbert had 11 points. Tolbert leads Tech
averaging 11.9 points per game this season
* For Oklahoma Steven Pledger who averages 17.8 points per
game and 4 rebounds per game. Pledger has been named the Big 12 Player of the
Week twice this season, and ranks 4th in the Big 12 in scoring
* Behind Pledger is fellow junior Andrew Fitzgerald who is
averaging 13.4 points per game this season and has reached double-digits in
scoring in 17 of the last 18 games. Fitzgerald has reached 17 points in six of
the last 17 games
