Texas Tech will celebrate Texas pride on Saturday, wearing
custom uniforms from Under Armour designed
specifically for the game.
“They're cool. I
think Under Armour did a good job,” said Tech quarterback
Seth Doege. “I think the guys are excited to wear them. We're excited to represent the Lone Star
Pride and excited to play UT in them.”
The uniforms are primarily scarlet trimmed in black with
stars resembling the Texas Flag on the shoulders. “Lone Star Pride” is stitched
on the side of the pants.
The helmet will feature two different decals. On the left
side is the lone star logo featured on the shoulders and on the right is the
Double T logo surrounded by the state of Texas.
While Tech head
coach Tommy Tuberville admits he is more of a traditionalist when it comes to
uniforms, he understands the importance of the latest trends to recruits.
“With the players, it's more about the bling on their
uniforms, and how they look,” he said.
“The shiny helmets, the metallics, all those
different type of uniforms. I think
it's good. As a traditionalist, I'm
not big on it. I think one time a
year is probably good.”
