Kansas football coach Charlie Weis gave credit to the students who turned out Saturday night to watch the Jayhawks suffer a 51-23 setback at the hands of Iowa State at Memorial Stadium during his weekly Big 12 teleconference, Monday.
To say Weis was disappointed with how things turned out was an understatement. He felt the fans did part, but the team didn't do theirs.
"The game didn't get away because of the fan base, the fans were there and into the game," Weis said.
The Jayhawks are off this week and according to Weis, that's a good thing.
"The loss last week was so disappointing that it would have been very, very tough to play this week," Weis said.
There's still one game left on the schedule and that will be at West Virginia on December 1st.
On Monday, the Big 12 announced that the game between the Jayhawks and Mountaineers will kickoff at 1:30 CT and be televised on FSN.
