Bob Huggins wanted his West Virginia team to be prepared for anything the Capital Classic might have in store. That's why his scouting report reminded players that their Marshall counterparts would try to talk trash to effect WVU mentally.

Forward Deniz Kilicli said despite the dramatic ending, which saw five ejections and five technical fouls, this was "a typical Capital Classic." He offered his thoughts on the series as a whole as well as this particular game.

Keaton Miles said the energy and fight WVU showed have been lacking at times, and acknowledged it felt like this could be a turning point in the Mountaineers' season.
