State Champs!

Texas Tech commits Ian Sadler and Connor Wilson led Argyle to the Class 3A Division 2 title Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Sadler turned in an epic performance to will the Eagles to their first-ever UIL football state championship.

Those football fans who didn't already know about Argyle star and Texas Tech commit Ian Sadler know about him now.

Sadler, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound athlete, did it all for the Eagles on Friday to lead Argyle to a 38-33 victory over a game Fairfield squad.

Sadler rushed for 197 yards, three touchdowns, caught four passes for 72 yards, including a spectacular shoe-string grab between two defenders, returned a punt 65 yards for a score and even punted three times with an average of 46 yards en route to earning Offensive MVP honors.

The future Red Raider inside receiver and possible punt returner was so impressive, that Scout.com bumped him up to a four-star recruit during the game Friday.

Though Sadler stole the show, he had help.

Teammate and fellow Texas Tech commit Connor Wilson scored Argyle's other touchdown on a seven-yard rush that saw him truck a Fairfield defender at the goalline. Wilson also picked off a pass from his safety position.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back struggled with some open field tackles against Fairfield standout running back Larry Rose, who finished with 261 yards and a pair of scores on the ground. Yet, Wilson and the Argyle defense bowed up late on fourth down and stopped Rose two yards shy of a first down to seal the victory.
