Conner Dyer announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Tuesday via Twitter. Dyer (6-foot-5, 275 pounds), a four-star recruit, is rated as the No. 249 overall prospect in the nation by Scout.com.

He chose Texas Tech over offers from Baylor, California, UCONN, LSU, Miami, Mississippi, Navy, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA and Virginia.

Dyer is the eighth commit for the Red Raiders of the 2015 cycle and the fifth four-star or higher rated recruit by Scout.com in that group. Dyer, Stephenville quarterback Jarrett Stidham, who was recently bumped to a five-star prospect, Port Arthur Memorial running back Corey Dauphine and Riverside Community Collge offensive tackle Lio Lafaele gives the Red Raiders four four-star or higher rated commits in the class on the offensive side of the ball.
