Oklahoma State started the game with an 11-2 run, putting them in control early. Texas Tech fought their way back into the game with a 7-0 run to close the gap to 27-25 in favor of the Cowgirls with 7:47 left in the half. A 7-0 run gave the Lady Raiders a 35-31 lead with just 2:52 left in the game. Texas Tech led 40-36 at the half. Neither team was able to pull away in the second half. Oklahoma State never led, but did hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 71 with 2:23 left in the game. The first overtime failed to produce a winner, but in the second overtime Nicole Campbell made a shot with just 25.6 seconds left to give Oklahoma State an 88-87 lead. Texas Tech was unable to score in the final 25 seconds, giving Oklahoma State an 88-87 victory.
Offense
Alesha Robertson scored a career-high 27 points, but it wasn’t enough to give Texas Tech the victory. Cisti Greenwalt had another strong game, this time scoring 19 points in the game. Natalie Ritchie scored 15 points in the game, while Erin Grant scored 12 points to go with 9 assists. Overall it was a good offensive performance, but the lack of offense at the end of the game was troubling. The Lady Raiders can’t afford to go scoreless for 2:44 at the end of a close game on the road.
Defense
Normally forcing 23 turnovers would be more than enough to win a game, but not when your opponent makes 55.2% of their shots. Nina Stone had a great game with 30 points, something that might have been caused by the departure of Jia Perkins. This game was a big letdown from the earlier match up against this team, but the game was still winnable.
