LUBBOCK, Texas – OL Manuel Ramirez, WR Joel Filani, DE Keyunta Dawson, LB Brock Stratton and LB Fletcher Session were elected team captains for the 2006 season by a vote of their teammates, head coach Mike Leach announced following Sunday evening’s workout.
While Ramirez and Filani and Dawson and Stratton represent the offense and defense, respectively, Session is the special teams’ rep among the group. All five are seniors.
Texas Tech begins the 2006 season Sat., Sept. 2, against SMU at Jones AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT. The Red Raiders follow with road trips to UTEP (Sept. 9) and TCU (Sept. 16), before returning home to face Southeastern Louisiana in the final non-conference game of the season.
