The
Red Raiders are coming off a 62-0 shellacking of Southeastern Louisiana.
Although this helps us Red Raider fans somewhat forget the loss in Fort Worth,
but I could use a victory over the Texas A&M Aggies to help push it further back
into my memory bank.
This game is a must win for both programs. Texas A&M started off the
season 4-0, but the Aggie faithful are not quite sold on this Dennie Franchione
character just yet. He hasn't proven that he can win against good
competition, going 1-8 against the upper echelon of the Big 12 South in Texas,
Texas Tech, and Oklahoma. If the Aggies can pull out a victory, it could
be a sign that Fran his finally turned the A&M program around.
Then there's the Red Raiders. After a tough loss at TCU, they came back
with vengeance and destroyed I-AA foe Southeastern Louisiana. The jury is
still out on how well this team can perform on the road in a hostile environment
though. Graham Harrell is only a sophomore and it will be interesting to
see how he handles the noise and atmosphere at the infamous Kyle Field.
This is a make or break game for both teams, so I expect a hard fought contest
by both teams that will come down to a close game heading into the 4th quarter.
Ultimately, the Red Raiders will be too much for the Aggies and will pull away
late in the game. Texas Tech will move to 4-1 and earn a solid victory on
the road.
Final Score: Texas Tech 34,
Texas A&M 17

The #24 ranked Texas Tech Red Raider (3-1) roll into College
Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies (4-0) this Saturday. This will be
sophmore quarterback Graham Harrell's first start in a hostile enviornment like
Kyle Field. If he is able to get comfortable and get the offense to click it
could be a long day for the Aggie defense.
Speaking of defense, the Red Raiders defense will look to keep up where they
left off. They have not allowed a touchdown over the last two games, and would
love to continue that trend. The key to the game will be stopping the A&M
rushing attack. Stopping Javorskie Lane and Stephen McGee is no easy task. If
they are able to limit what A&M can do on the ground, it could lead to a Red
Raider victory.
Final Score: Texas Tech 31,
Texas A&M 21

My heart tells me that Texas Tech
will walk out of Kyle Field with a win on Saturday, but you can't always go with
your heart. The Red Raiders have had 2 road games this season and neither of
those were at a venue like Kyle Field against a Big 12 team. Both teams will
play well, but Kyle Field, the crowd, and inexperience on the offensive side of
the ball all go against the Red Raiders. One more thing that will hurt Tech this
Saturday, the clock. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Final Score: Texas Tech 24, Texas A&M 28

Texas Tech faces its toughest test yet at
Kyle against the Aggies. We may have the better team, coaching staff, et cetera.
None of that matters this weekend.
The Aggie fans, coaches, and players are making it no secret that this game is
huge for them. They see us as a beatable team, and are extremely motivated for
their Big 12 opener at home.
However, our Red Raiders should have a bit more fire than usual as well. I
guarantee that some of them are still a little angry about the TCU game, as
evidenced by their play against SE Louisiana. Also, Jarrett Hicks is itching to
go out and dominate, which should scare A&M. Furthermore, we might finally see a
healthy Chris Parker after his rest. Add all of this up and it should result in
the best Tech team that we have seen yet.
The Aggies will play hard, but so will the Red Raiders, which helps us leave
College Station with the win.
Final Score: Texas Tech 38, Texas
A&M 28
