Scouting Report on Corbin Ray

Coach Knight has always liked big guys who have the ability to step out and shoot from the perimeter to create room for his slashers down low. Texas Tech's newest commit Corbin Ray fits the bill to do just that. RaiderPower.com caught up with national recruiting expert Dave Telep, who has seen Corbin play on multiple occasions, to get his thoughts on the newest Red Raider.

RaiderPower.com spoke with Scout.com's national recruiting expert, Dave Telep, about how he sees Corbin Ray fitting in at the collegiate level.

Dave has seen Corbin play on multiple occasions, most recently this past weekend at the Kingwood Tournament in Houston.

"Shooting is really his strength," said Telep. "His skillset is very fitting to Coach Knight's offense in that he is a faceup 4 man."

Corbin's shooting ability along with his size is what will set him apart from other players in the Big 12.

Coach Knight likes big guys who have the ability to step outside and shoot, and Corbin is just that.

"I see him fitting in real well based on what they do at Texas Tech," said Telep. "He may end up playing some SF down the road, but I think he is better suited as a PF that plays out on the perimeter."

With players such as John Roberson, Mike Singletary, Ricardo De Bem, and D'Walyn Roberts coming to Lubbock in the class of 2007, Corbin's playing style will be a healthy addition to the Texas Tech lineup.
