The Gallington Saga

The Deveric Gallington carousel continues to spin. Back in June, RaiderPower was the first to report that the elite offensive guard had narrowed down his list to Texas Tech and Florida. A new school has now entered the picture with a familiar Texas Tech foe heading up their recruiting efforts. Come inside as we bring you the latest chapter in the Gallington Saga.

Deveric Gallington, the huge 6'4, 330 pound offensive guard out of Richland Hills, TX, has been playing the waiting game.
"I have over 13 offers, but Texas Tech, Florida, and Alabama are the 3 schools I really like."

Back in mid-June, the Florida coaches told him he would know whether or not the Gators would be offering him by month's end, but that deadline has come and gone without any word out of Gainesville.

"I still haven't heard anything from Florida yet," said Gallington. "I should be hearing something from them by the end of July. My coach suggested that I wait to see if they will offer me, and I plan on giving them until the end of the month."

In the meantime though, Gallington doesn't plan on sitting around.

"I plan on visiting several schools towards the end of this month. I plan on going up to Texas Tech, Alabama, Arizona, and Oklahoma State. I don't have any definite dates setup, but I plan on going towards the end of July."

The last time RaiderPower spoke with Deveric, he had a top 2 of Texas Tech and Florida, but another school has jumped into the mix as of late.

Gallington will be moving to the other side of the line of scrimmage in 2007.

"Alabama is really coming after me now," said Gallington. "Major Applewhite actually called me today and wants me to come down to their camp. They have seen my film from playing on the defensive side of the ball, but they want me to come down and workout in person as an offensive linemen."

Deveric has several options to choose from to play collegiate ball, but there are 3 schools at the top of the 3 star prospect's list.

"I have over 13 offers, but Texas Tech, Florida, and Alabama are the 3 schools I really like. Nearly every school is recruiting me as an offensive guard, except for Iowa State who wants me to come in and play defensive tackle. I personally would prefer to play on the offensive line."

Stay tuned to as we will continue to follow Gallington's recruitment. Recommended Stories
