Coming off of a New Year’s Day win against the University of Texas – El Paso, 75-68, Tech looks to start off Big 12 play on a good note. A win over the Cowboys will give Coach Bob Knight his 900th career victory.
Last season, the series was split, with the home team winning each game. In the first contest, on February 10th, Oklahoma State won in Stillwater in double overtime, 93-91. Jackson and Zeno contributed 24 and 21 points, respectively, in the close, nerve-wracking loss.
The next game, in Lubbock on February 24th, was also tight as well. Jarrius Jackson sealed the game with two free throws to win 59-57 during a windy and dusty day outside of the United Spirit Arena.
This will be the 40th meeting between the two schools, with Oklahoma State leading the series 27-12. Of all the games played at Oklahoma State, the Cowboys lead 16-4. Tech is currently on a one game winning streak against OSU. Saturday’s game will be broadcast on CBS at 12:30PM Central Standard Time.

Oklahoma State is on a four game winning streak and has won all of their home games so far this season. The Cowboys beat Rogers State at home on Monday, 62-53.
Three players are averaging double figures in scoring. They include: James Anderson (G) at 16.8 ppg, Terrel Harris (G) at 11.3 ppg, and Marcus Dove (F) at 10.5 ppg. Top returnees Byron Eaton (G) and Obi Muonelo (G) are averaging 9.6 and 7.9 ppg.
Keys to the Game
1. Contain leading scorers James Anderson and Terrel Harris. – Tech did a great job of limiting Stefon Jackson of UTEP to 9 points before he fouled out. He was averaging just under 25 points per game coming into last Saturday’s match.
2. Limit Turnovers. – Protect the ball and limit OSU points from Tech turnovers.
3. Rebounds. – Crash the boards hard, increasing second chance points and limiting OSU’s possessions.
4. Three-point shooting – When the Red Raiders are hot from three-point land, they’re HOT. Hopefully, Alan Voskuil and John Roberson will have the opportunity for many three-point shots. Voskuil is leading the Big 12 Conference in three-point field goal percentage, at 60%.
