Texas Tech games at Texas, Houston will be aired in primetime slots

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech’s early-season football games at Texas and Houston will be televised nationally, the Big 12 Conference announced Monday. The league released an early list of television selections from the Big 12 Conference TV package, as well as game announcements from other conference packages.

The Red Raiders and Longhorns will meet at 7 p.m. CT on ABC in Austin on Sat., Sept. 19, and face Houston at 8:15 p.m. the following weekend in Houston on ESPN2. The two games are the earliest the Red Raiders have appeared on the ABC network family since 2002, when Tech opened the season at Ohio State and faced Mississippi at home on ABC.

Season tickets for the 2009 season can be purchased at www.texastech.com or by contacting the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office at (888) GO-BIG-12. Individual game tickets won’t go on sale until early August.
