Texas Tech jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after Alex Torres took a swing pass 56 yards for a touchdown and looked to be on a roll by recovering a fumble on A&M’s first play from scrimmage, but it was all downhill from there for the Red Raiders.
Despite throwing for 310 yards and two touchdowns, quarterback Taylor Potts could not get on the same page as the offense. Potts committed two interceptions and a fumble and was pulled halfway through the third quarter.
Redshirt freshman Seth Doege then took over, throwing for 146 yards on 18-25 passing, but it was too little, too late for the Red Raiders.
The Texas Tech defense struggled against the Aggies, allowing total yards and 52 points, the most scored ever by the Aggies when facing Texas Tech.
With the loss, the Red Raiders moves to 5-3, 2-2 in conference play. They will face off next week against Kansas in Lubbock. Game time is at 2:30.
