The relative quiet of the past few weeks appears to have ended on the recruiting front.
A rash of commitments in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on Saturday afternoon joined the news of Josh Jones releasing his top five schools.
Jones, a Scout three-star offensive tackle from Richmond (Texas) George Bush in the Houston area, released his top five via Twitter shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday. That top five, in no particular order as Jones noted, included Wake Forest, Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Purdue.
Top 5 no order! Blessed to even have the opportunity to tweet this! all the glory belongs to the man above! ???????? pic.twitter.com/0KUaKnT7tV— #JUICED (@JoshJones_23) July 19, 2014
Jones accumulated an impressive list of offers during the past few months. In addition to his top five, Jones also holds offers from Houston, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Nebraska, North Texas, and Rutgers.
Jones has a great frame with good length that suggest he can add a significant amount of positive weight at the next level. He measured 6-foot-5 1/2, 272 pounds at the Houston Nike Football Training Camp in early April.
Scout ranks Jones as the No. 54 offensive tackle nationally in the 2015 class, as well as the No. 78 overall prospect in the state.
